Amazon’s Fire TV lineup covers a wide range of needs, and the spec sheet alone doesn’t make it obvious which one is right for you. Here’s the practical difference.

Fire TV Stick

The base model — HD/Full HD only, fine for a secondary bedroom TV or casual, occasional streaming. Don’t buy this one for your main TV if it’s 4K.

Fire TV Stick 4K

The sensible default for most people: 4K HDR support, solid app performance, fits any TV bought in the last several years.

Fire TV Stick 4K Max

Same 4K HDR output, but with WiFi 6E support and noticeably faster app switching — worth the upgrade if you run several streaming apps and hate waiting for menus to load.

Fire TV Cube

The only one with a built-in Ethernet port and hands-free Alexa. If you’ve ever had buffering issues on WiFi, the Cube’s wired connection alone can be worth the price difference.
